Auckland’s Kadyn Webster joins the Lava Lava family this June with his 4-track Realer EP. Over the past few years Kadyn has been honing his craft, drawing inspiration from the afterhours and fusing elements of Techno, Breaks, House and Electronica in his productions. With his Lava Lava debut he delivers a truly knockout release which we are incredibly excited to present.

On his release Kadyn writes:
“Realer EP is an expression of rave house and dance. I wanted to branch out from techno on this release but still using classic Detroit style synths and rave drums. The EP features 3 fast paced high energy house tracks with Realer and Sunflower’s being the standouts, Coupled with 1 future breakbeat piano infused record. There is something for everyone on this EP and I hope you enjoy”

‘Realer’ kicks off the EP by bringing you straight into the dance floor with driving percussion and bright piano rolls. Kadyn lays down a glorious vocal line which playfully weaves its way throughout to create a track bristling with energy and warmth.

Following up, ‘Sunflowers’ is a high energy House cut with thumping kicks, squelching synth stabs and chopped up vocal samples. A bouncing low end groove and airy pads combine to give this cut a real 90’s tinged euphoria.

Kadyn shows his depth of sound with ‘J Song’. An emotive track which fuses broken beats with melodic elements, delicate piano lines and birdsong to fine effect. Soft atmospherics ease in alongside faint strings creating a beautiful piece.

Finally, ‘All’ closes off the EP balancing Breaks inspired drum patterns and punchy baselines with intricate melodies and beautiful atmospherics. Muted piano lines ebb and flow throughout the track alongside soft and sedate vocal samples. The perfect track to soundtrack the sunrise after the afterparty.
